In series Forest, alternates square canvases divided into 10 x 10 grids of smaller squares with vertical ‘trunk’ tableaux crossed by a unique compositional ‘stripe’. The arbitrariness and restraint of their structuring principle, and the impulsive yet contained compositions within, elude interpretation while multiplying possibilities for the imagination.
